Version 1.1 released tomorrow!
over 9 years ago – Fri, Feb 06, 2015 at 05:50:07 AM

Hey friends!!

Just letting you know that v1.1 will be released tomorrow! You should be able to download it from where you redeemed your keys for it. Remember, saves from v1.0 aren't compatible with v1.1 - so Steam folks, it'll auto update unless you tell it not to, I believe.

If anyone has a save that they'd like to have converted for use in 1.1, you can send them to us at [email protected] and we'll do our best to make you a saved game that picks up where you left off.

We'll have the full changelog available tomorrow at www.infamous-quests.com, so you can see what we've done.

PHYSICAL REWARDS

With v1.1 being completed, it means we'll be working on the mastering of the DVD to send to the presses! We'll be sending them to the presses in two weeks, to make sure any lingering bugs that might DARE show their head are squashed, and then two weeks after that we should begin to receive our items... which means they'll begin to get sent out!

The QFI companion will be sent out to the printers around the same time as the discs and will be shipped with any other rewards you may have selected!

Thanks to everyone for your support, patience, faith and time. I hope you've all enjoyed QFI so far and I hope you'll enjoy 1.1 as well!!!

Quest For Infamy Physical Rewards Update
over 9 years ago – Fri, Nov 28, 2014 at 02:43:29 PM

Hey there, backers of The Quest For Infamy Companion!

Well - we did it!

First off, again - I have to thank all of you for taking this ride with us. When we started this, Kickstarter was a new thing, and there was a palpable excitement about adventure games again. Smaller indie groups like us stood with classic developers, and put our hands into the hudle to try and make some of those beloved games we all loved - Adventure Games.

The excitement was thick in the air, over two years ago. So much promise and hope. Those are good feelings - especially when you seem to share them with thousands and thousands of people all over the globe.

We released Quest For Infamy this year, and I can say it was a seminal moment in my life. Everyone on the team worked amazingly hard on this game for two years - and, well, we did it. Not just in the adventure genre, but in many other genres - Kickstarter games fell apart and did not complete. We're proud to be one that didn't fall apart, and we finished our game.

PHYSICAL REWARDS

Now - the second half of our project includes finishing up and mailing out these physical rewards to you who may have ordered them! Well, the boxes are all finished up and being sent to the press as we speak. I think the final version is going to look amazing, and I'm really, really excited to have them made! I collected my PC Game boxes when I was a kid, and this is something I would have loved to have had back then. The other items for the packages are being manufactured during December and Jan.

The "Quest For Infamy Companion: Art Book and Hint Guide" is being finalized and edited now - with the holidays, it'll be more slow going on the editing and finalizing of the book - but I don't want to rush it. I want to make sure we are thorough on it. There was so much creativity during development, I want to make sure that's all represented in there - along with nicely crafted maps, trivia bits about areas. I want to make sure this book is the best we can make it, that's all.

Now, we are waiting to send the authored master DVD for Quest For Infamy to presses until after version 1.1 is released. v1.1 is currently being Beta Tested, and is tentatively scheduled for release in December. This means we can get the master disc to press in January.

The DVD will not only contain the game, but also many, many goodies - including all the production videos, production art, and even early game design documents. I want to ensure everyone's experience with the QFI package is top notch.

Which means, if all goes according to plan, physical rewards will start going out in February 2015.

Which also means that we close the final chapter on this saga - the making of Quest For Infamy. A journey which started in 2003, and has spanned so many incidents in our lives, and ultimately it became a shared experience with you.

I'd be lying if I didn't say I was kind of sad about it. I met so many amazing people making this game. Both people who supported us, and those who came on board to make it. A silly little retro-game made by a bunch of "nobodies" has a small place in this world, but it's larger than I ever thought.

GAME JAM GAME

Right now, we are currently working on a small little prequel game for Quest for Infamy entitled: Roehm To Ruin! It gives you the low-down on how Mr. Roehm got into the Baron's castle, and just what exactly happened that night! There's a lot of cool games in there by some really talented folks, and I'm really glad we decided to take part! Check them out here - http://jams.gamejolt.io/pointandclickjam/games

QUEST FOR INFAMY V1.1

And so, the time draws near for the release of Quest For Infamy v1.1! We've been working on this over the past few months, and finally - we're beta testing it. Not only have bugs been fixed, but stats have been improved, and new content has been added! Several new areas to explore - and perhaps pilfer, loot, or find new items!

The game will auto-update on Steam; with GoG, Desura and Humble, you'll have to re-download to get the new version. Of course, the biggest bummer with v1.1 is that your OLD SAVES ARE NOT COMPATIBLE. I know - this is a limitation of the game engine we use, and we're sorry.

But I am working to make it so if you send me a saved game, or your characters stats, we can create you a saved game and characters stats like your previous one. You'd be able to send those to [email protected] and I'd send one back.

SUMMING UP

I don't know, exactly, what the future will hold for us. But I must thank you - each and every one of you. I'm very excited to get your rewards out to you, and I hope you all enjoy and like them as part of the classic gaming experience. All my best and all the best from everyone at Infamous Quests and Team Infamy.

QFI Companion Updates!!
over 9 years ago – Tue, Sep 02, 2014 at 11:05:57 AM

Hey friends,

Well - I hope everyone's been having a nice summer.  Unless you live in the southern hemisphere and I hope you've had a nice winter!!

Well - it's been over a month since Quest For Infamy has been released; we've received a lot of nice letters, PMs, emails, etc about the game so I just want make sure I thank you for your encouragement.

Currently, we're working on version 1.1 of Quest For Infamy - this fixes all the bugs and such that we missed for the first round - this will give us a better and more final version to press to DVD for the physical copies of the game.  It also allows us to add in some material that we couldn't fit in the game before the launch date - so there may be a few more hidden surprises in the new version!

The changes in the v1.1 will be reflected in the QFI Companion's Hint/Guide section as well - we've been collating the art, and I've been writing a lot of text, talking about the game's conception, and the world of QFI at large, and how The Valley of Krasna and Lonaria ties into the larger world of Tahrsein itself.  I think, for all those who love background information and lore about fantasy worlds, you'll love the stuff in the companion.

It's looking like, right now, the physical rewards, including the books, will be finished and ready to mail in the late fall (October/November) - when I get an exact set of dates, I will (of course) keep you updated here.

It's been a crazy past few months, for certain - I've seen a dream come to fruition, and our game is now out there! We still have, heh, so much to do - but it's pretty amazing we made it here.  In this age where so many Kickstarter projects have been unfinished or abandoned, I'm proud that we did it, and saw it through.  Honestly, though, I couldn't have done it without the support of all of you - and many of you who've supported who have become personal friends.  You've bolstered me on those days when I felt less than able - and you've kept me going when I was lost.  We live in a crazy world, where anything can happen - good or bad - and I can't count my blessings enough when I think of all the good people I've had support me. We at Infamous Quests are truly blessed with the most eager and honest fans.  So, again - thank you... truly.  For sharing your enthusiasm with me, and letting me share mine with you.

Also, if you haven't filled out your backer kit info, get over to backerkit.com and do it!  Also, if you wish to add any items to your order, you can do so at BACKER KIT PRE-ORDERS - https://qfi-companion.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders - you can add to your order if you like.

So - as always, any questions - write here, or [email protected] - I also want to make sure everyone who ordered digital copies of the game got theirs - if you have not, let me know - also, if you wanted a GoG.com or a Desura key, please let me know.

Talk to you soon, friends!
